A "quantum computing reading group" will gather on Fridays from 14:00 to 16:00. The aim of the reading group is to work through Peter Shor's MIT lecture notes that can be found here: https://math.mit.edu/~shor/435-LN/ The meetings allow both in person and online participation. The former in the SMRI Seminar Room (A12 Macleay Room 301) and the latter via Zoom. If you are interested in taking part in this, please use a Google account to join the Google group at https://groups.google.com/g/quantum-reading-2025/ The Google group (and its associated mailing list) will be used to coordinate and post announcements and to share Zoom links. There will be no further communication via scnews. The first meeting is this Friday, 22 August. It will most likely run much shorter than 2 hours and focus on logistics and organisation (such as: how are sessions run, what are the expectations on participants, etc). The outcomes of this meeting will be communicated via email and we'll start for real on 29 August. All are welcome!
