Upgrade of Network Sydnet6 deployment Saturday 4th October 2025

Dear colleagues,
An upgrade of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) network infrastructure from Sydnet5 to Sydnet6 in the above-mentioned building is scheduled for
4am to 6pm on Saturday 4th October 2025.

Impacts of change: temporary weekend network outage:
Wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) network services will be unavailable during this change period, including the following: internet, intranet, VOIP phones, wireless
services, printers, building management system, fire system, closed-circuit television, and Central Operations Services (COS) managed services.
Important information:

'Network outage means that all wired ethernet network and internet services will be unavailable during the timeframe.
·
There will be no connectivity for any wired equipment that relies on the network or internet, including computers, printers, and audio-visual equipment.
·
Services such as air conditioning, power and water will
not be disrupted.
·
Work will be undertaken only in the communications rooms within the building (not in office spaces) and will not result in disruptive noise.
Action for you:
·
Forward this email to any colleagues who need to be aware of this upcoming building-specific outage.
·
Save any work that is reliant on network connections well before the work commences.
·
After the outage: people using a
'bring
your own device' (BYOD) are strongly encouraged to use the wireless connection on their device, if a wired connection is required you will need to change the settings
on the device to use the wired network connection.
