Algebra Seminar: Lev Shneerson -- On the growth and identities of semigroups

Lev Shneerson (The City University of New York) will be speaking next week in the
algebra seminar.  We will go out for lunch after the talk.

Title: On the growth and identities of semigroups 

Abstract: We will discuss connections between the asymptotic behavior and existence of
non-trivial identities in some classes of finitely generated and finitely presented
semigroups.  

Part of the talk will be based on recent results of joint work with David Easdown.
