NO electrical work Sat-Sun 8-9 Nov

UPDATE Fri 7 Nov, 2:20pm:
The works scheduled for 8-9 Nov have been POSTPONED to some later date.

The works on 25-26Nov, as well as the Sydnet6 migration on about 1-2 Nov,
have been completed.

Cheers, Paul

In fact there will be two shutdowns, one on the weekend 25-26 Oct and
another two weeks later on 8-9 Nov, each for one side of the building,
affecting floors 5-8. Our main servers and network switches should be
unaffected as they will be provided with temporary power. The research
servers will retain power and stay up on 25-26 Oct, but lose power on
8-9 Nov (to be shut down beforehand).

There will similar works, well outside of office hours, on:
 - level 4 on Tue/Wed/Thu 28-29 Oct (maybe not affecting our offices?), and
 - level 8 on Wed 29 Oct (maybe affecting just 807).

(See also email from Jen at 4:30pm on 21 Oct.)

(There will also be a shutdown for the Sydnet6 migration on Fri 31 Oct.)

There is some electrical work proposed for the weekend of 25-26 October.
Our main servers and network switches should be unaffected as they will
be provided with temporary power.

Our research servers (xxxona), and offices on levels 5 to 8, will
lose power during the work (both Saturday and Sunday). I will shut
the research servers down on Saturday morning, and reboot them on
Monday morning.

In the schedule I also see some work:
 - on level 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday 28 and 29 Oct, maybe only the
(Physics or Biology?) labs or the Faculty offices will be affected
 - in 807 on Wednesday 29 Oct (for two hours only, during normal hours),
I guess the room will lose power during the work.
