Applied Maths Seminar: Xue -- Modelling and analysis of biological dynamics on tumor, wound, infectious diseases and diabetes

Ling Xue (Harbin Engineering University) will be visiting us on 29-30 October, and will
give a seminar on Thursday 29 October at 12pm in the Access Grid Room (note unusual day,
place).

Title: Modelling and analysis of biological dynamics on tumor, wound, infectious
diseases and diabetes

Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce some of our recent work from the Mathematical
Biology Group at the School of Mathematics, Harbin Engineering University. Our work is
motivated by a variety of biological processes, including tumor–immune interactions,
wound healing, infectious disease transmission, and metabolic dynamics related to
diabetes. Based on distinct biological mechanisms, we formulate and investigate a
series of mathematical models, including ordinary and partial differential equations, as
well as network models. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, we
explore underlying biological mechanisms and gain an understanding of epidemic control,
tumor immune modulation, accelerated wound healing, and metabolic regulation.
